McAfee Secure sites help keep you safe from identity theft, credit card fraud, spyware, spam, viruses and online scams

My hard drive seems to be working overtime when I run programs. Should I install more memory or replace my drive?

If your hard drive makes a lot of noise when opening and running programs, chances are, your memory is running to the max and you may be using a lot of Virtual Memory which is very taxing to your hard drive, thereby making your PC run slower.  The best solution to this is to upgrade your system with enough memory to handle your programs, especially if you are running multitasks, in order to minimize page swapping to the hard disk.
